TV Fashion Looks on a College Budget

Have you ever wanted to recreate an outfit seen on your favorite TV shows? As I watch Gossip Girl, The Lying Game and Pretty Little Liars religiously their style has also been something to notice. Here are a few looks from this week’s episodes that you could recreate on your own without spending fortunes that they do for wardrobe.

In Gossip Girl this week, Blair had run to Dan to keep her secret. While running around town with Humphrey her chic down town outfit is great for the every day stylish student you are. Her yellow beret can be found for less than $7 at Forever 21 and a mustard bag can be bought for less than $25 at modcloth.com. The most expensive thing you will have to find is a dark grey cape coat that let you get a glimpse of her yellow chiffon blouse and print skirt. Wear your best leather Mary Jane’s and you’re ready to walk all over campus.

Sutton Mercer or should I say Emma in The Lying Game is always looking her best, walking the halls in high school. She has always looked polished and in this week’s episode walking next to Mads was no exception. You can find a black pencil skirt for less than $10 at H&M, a while ruffle top at modcloth.com, and a black messenger bag for less than $25 at JC Penney. The only splurge you’re going to do is finding a red blazer to top off the outfit. Find a tortoise necklace for an extra accessory.

If you’re not looking for attention and looking for comfort and cute, Spencer Hastings has got the style for you this week. As she goes into the city looking for answers her outfit is perfect for school and a day roaming around town. Find your black skinny jeans or PacSun always has a deal 2 for $30, borrow your boyfriend’s flannel or find one from urbanoutfitters.com for less than $40, and a grey crewneck to imitate Spencer’s outfit. A navy pea coat and tie up ankle booties for less than $40 from Ross or Marshall’s will pull the look together. If you go into your local thrift store to find a brown leather messenger bag, it will keep your budget to a minimum.

Last but not least, if you’re looking for a date night outfit Aria has the cutest style to steal. Splurge a little on a sweet heart top dress from modcloth.com for less than $100 instead of the usual mini you’d pull out of the closet. Pair it with your fringe black heels and a black blazer for less than $40 from H&M. Carry a glitter clutch and wear a little more blind around your neck with long chained necklaces. Stay cute and have his eyes on you all night.

Enjoy and happy shopping!
